    Vertical Reality?

I was just wondering whether the Vertical Reality ride still goes out from Grand Central Bakery in Multnomah Village on Monday mornings.

I got there this morning around 9:50 a.m. and waited until about 10:05 a.m. and nobody showed up.

It's a great route, I'm just hoping to do it with some people.

Turnout has dropped for some reason. The last 2 times I was there, only 2-3 people were there and no ride leader showed up. Luckily we all knew the route. When I can get Monday off I love that ride. There used to be 10-15 solid riders there last summer. Maybe it is a winter time thing.

I was there on Presidents day and there was a good 15 or so riders.  Maybe the cold / damp weather this morning kept people in?  It was a balmy 38 out this morning on our drive in. :)

    Re: Vertical Reality?

I was there last week and there was a good turn out (10 riders or so). That was my first time so I can't speak to "normal" turn out, but as spring arrives I plan to try to make it as often as possible. Todays weather forcast scared me off, guess I wasn't the only one.

Well, glad to hear the ride is still happening.  Since my employment status has changed recently, I will probably be out there more often.

    Sasha-

Its hit and miss on the Monday rides, if the weather is questionable to crappy I've been the only one there, if its decent to good there is generally a good turnout.

    Re: Vertical Reality?

Sasha, the Monday ride does not have a "dedicated, every Monday" ride leader, especially during the winter months, although, like some have mentioned, if the weather is decent it still pulls up to 15 or 20 riders at times.

If anyone would like to step up for the Monday ride leader position please let us know, otherwise it'll continue to be a self lead ride until warm weather probably.

I was there today, foul weather specialist that I am. No ride leader or other riders.

Tom - driving to MV in your car, hoping nobody shows up, then turning around and going home telling everyone on the forum that you were the only one there doesn't count.

Seriously, if you rode yesterday...more power to you.

I hope to be out there next week soon - maybe when the weather gets better.

OK - here I am, three months after my original post, still wondering whether anyone is going to show up for the ride today.

The weather looks better this afternoon, so I may wait it out - but I've played that game before.

Please let me know if you are planning on doing the ride from GCB in MV this morning - or would be up for doing the route this afternoon.  Thanks.

    Re: Vertical Reality?

    Hi Sasha,

I can ride mid-week days usually on Tues/Thur if you are looking for a riding partner on other days.  Would be nice to ride some different routes than I normally do, so anothers input would be great. Hope to be hitting the West Hills again on Thursday!

    Marc
