Gran Fondo and Chris Horner in the Dalles

I'm sure some of you saw this article in the Oregonian today, sports section. C

    But in case you didn't:

I did see that, and went to their website, but it doesn't look like the link for the course map is working yet. We'll have to check back in as details are fleshed out, I guess.

Try going directly to the map.

That is an awesome century ride.  I have done it several times from Hood River. First you ride the Old Scenic hwy to The Dalles, then wheat country rollers to Dufur, lunch at the Past Time Saloon,  CLIMB 3000'  to Knebal Pass on a full belly, followed by the 4500' descent into Hood River.

    Bring your camera!

We should do it as a club ride in the spring.  Knebal Pass usually opens mid-May; perhaps April this year.

PS. I just noticed on the map that there is a Time Trial climbing the 3000' in 20 miles from Dufur to Knebal pass.  OUCH.

Thanks for posting the link, Einar. Yes, I would be up for doing this as a club/team ride sometime this spring. Looks great!

I love these roads - I'll support a venture anytime, within "reason" :>
